Tunnel Drive – After a short climb, a flat 3 mile out and back trail into the gorge. Goes through tunnels cut to bring water into Canon City at one time. You’ll probably get to watch the train go by. Access to the Royal Cascade trail is near the end of the Tunnel Drive trail.
South Canon Trails – located off of Riverside Dr these are slightly harder trails but still classified as beginner trails. There is a small bike park with jumps and Mutton Busin is a nice flow trail.
Oil Well Flats – located 7 miles north of Canon City on Red Canyon Rd in BLM area. This is a favorite area for mountain bikers to boondock as well as equestrians. Trails are intermediate in difficulty to expert. Island in the Sky is an expert biking trail but also a great hike with the best views of the city. You’ll hear lots of gun fire here as there are free gun ranges across Red Canyon Rd in the Dinosaur Flats.
